Working at BMT offers unrivalled opportunities to contribute to complex and high profile projects around the globe and opens the doors to working overseas. As a responsible employer BMT adheres strictly to health and safety legislation and all of our companies operate schemes to support their employee’s health, safety and well-being.
The engagement of our staff is extremely important to us and we consult them regularly to ensure that their expectations are being met. Every 18 months we carry out an Employee Engagement Survey to gauge the mood within the business and provide staff with the opportunity to feedback on various aspects of their role at BMT.
These surveys also help to shape policy on various aspects of working life at BMT, from training and development and reward and recognition to career opportunities, diversity and health and safety.
Based on previous feedback, we have taken a number of actions to improve employment practices across the group. These include: increasing the amount and quality of our training and development programmes, more emphasis on personal development plans and staff reviews and establishing guidelines for staff secondments. Many companies in the group are now offering flexible benefits to their employees, including the opportunity to work from home.
BMT's efforts to engage employees were instrumental in the company being included in the prestigious UK 'Sunday Times 100 'Best Companies to Work For' list for 2012.
