The Position

This is a fabulous opportunity to influence the direction of our company. You will work to secure profitable order intake to support BMT’s strategic plan, through a combination of both contract growth and new business.

Working closely with our delivery teams to ensure there is a coordinated approach for our customers within our established markets, you will develop intimate customer relationships, strengthen our opportunity pipeline, and translate that into high quality order intake for the Australian Defence and Security business.

You will support the delivery of a range of initiatives within the business.  You will be resourceful, solutions focused and able to work effectively as part of a team, liaising with our interstate and international offices and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

The Individual

With experience in Defence or Defence industry, your energy and commitment to innovative ideas keep you on top of the latest industry trends.

We are looking for someone with experience:

• Working across Defence or Defence Industry
• Meeting targets for accounts, including sales forecasting
• Building and strengthening the sales pipeline
• Managing account, bid and proposals budgets
• Leading client focused research to understand client needs and market trends
• Ensuring a coordinated approach to customer relationship development across BMT Defence and Security Australia
• Innovative ideas about promoting our capability

 

You will have:

• 10+ years of experience, including significant experience in sales, account management or business development positions with demonstrable evidence of market growth
• Tertiary or relevant qualification in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Outstanding customer relationship skills and relevant market knowledge – especially the defence maritime sector in Australia
• Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and gain commitment, translating into profitable business decisions in a result driven environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; including building effective relationships, positive interaction and productive problem solving
• Ability to work efficiently in a professional business environment
• Willingness to embrace innovation and creativity
• Excellent writing, editing, presentation and research skills
